"Phone Companies Scream Bloody Murder"

Maybe you've heard about internet phones - names like VoIP, Skype, Magicjack, Vonage, among others and you might have heard that people are saving large money, and able to do amazing things with an incredible variety of services...

Maybe you've tried out internet phones in the past and thought that the technology wasn't quite there...

Maybe you have an internet phone now but you aren't enjoying the savings that others are talking about and you don't quite get the big hype...

Maybe your place of employment has migrated over to internet phones and it works fine...

Maybe you need a phone service that will give you either cheap or even free long distance and save you large on your local phone service too...

Maybe you need all the above advantages but you would like to take this phone to the cottage or the lake and use it to conceal from your customers or your boss that you are not miserably stuck at home all weekend churning out work to make them successful but have started to use internet technology to enable you to be anywhere and work anywhere...

And just maybe you would like to do that from anywhere in the world...(provided that there is a decent internet connection - even not so decent usually works)

Or maybe you would like to be able to set up a virtual presence in a distant city - to fake the locals into thinking that you live there, so that they will treat your call as one of them, and you don't break rapport by being a distant outsider...

ALL THESE FEATURES ARE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE FOR PENNIES A DAY!

Well, all of these things are possible. Right now. The internet is ready. The technology is ready. But you may not be ready. This course can change that...quickly.

And by course, I mean a one-evening cram session. Some people get through it in around an hour - some of it will depend on how fast you read, of course. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Excuse my enthusiasm but I am excited by what this easy-to-use course can do for you.

Let me back up and introduce myself. In the 90's -- right when the internet came out of the government and academic worlds and started to become "the next big thing" -- I was living in Japan. I dashed out, bought a computer, and tried to convince everyone I knew, especially my family, to get on email. It was exciting times - suddenly distance ceased to matter - at least for written communication.

I started playing with all the voice applications that came along and again tried to convince my family to follow along. I was always a bit of a geek and have played with unusual technologies early on (an early adopter is the official (and polite) name for a techno-nerd like me). I knew that email was going to be everywhere. But many people hesitated and couldn't see the advantages while those in the know moved ahead.

And everytime I heard someone say "There is nothing new under the sun" or "This is just another trend" I would take them on. Finally I just gave up and thought 10 years from now, they'll think it was their idea -- so save your breath, Paul.

This time around you don't have to be the last person on the block to "get it". The people who were at the leading edge of the email on-line revolution became the leaders. They became the go-to people, the ones that others would turn to when they needed help. It helped them socially, in the work place, and probably more.

Look, everyone knows that they need more internet presence. Some people believe that they just can't get things easily and are reluctant to try things. Internet phones aren't difficult, once you learn it it'll be easy, but as we'll see, there are a lot of people that have an interest in keeping you confused and dependent.

We are at that stage where it is going mainstream fast  for internet phones now. The world and technology are completely ready. But you, as Joe or Jane Consumer probably don't know which way to go (or else you wouldn't have read this far, I'm guessing).

LEARN THE STUFF THAT NOBODY REALLY WANTS YOU TO KNOW!

There are some serious forces at play that would like to keep you ignorant of how to make the best choices.

First of all, there is:

The internet service providers, the guys that sell you internet - the dsl, cable, dial-up, satellite, wireless internet service providers - they have a vested interest in keeping you hooked to their service (when you signed up with them they give you email addresses and hope you use them so it becomes more of a hassle to switch to another company).

Likewise, even if they are not in the regular phone selling business, they want to sell you their solution and they don't want you to understand how it works, so you become tied to their magic boxes, and their phone numbers, and it becomes a complete hassle to change to another provder - and voila, we have another little problem to change in the future but not today and you are hooked.

And worse, if they do sell regular old-fashioned phone services, they want to keep the myth going that internet phones are unworkable or they have sound quality problems - so you will keep using your regular phone - or go back to them.

Then there are the big internet phone service companies. Generally, they have a vested interest in you not being a wise consumer too. They want to keep you addicted to their magic boxes and their phone numbers. For all their "Replace the phone company" rhetoric, they really want to become like a big monopoly - with addicted customers that are too afraid (due to ignorance) to leave.

Then there are the people that are selling to you on the internet - internet marketers. There can be (and usually is) a lot of markup in internet phone services (put "Internet Phone Service" in Google sometime and see the amount of sponsered links on the top or the right). Some of those companies give very generous commisions to websites that can bring them customers - so can you trust their biased and paid-for reviews - do they really want apples compared to apples, as it were?

Look, I have no problem with any of these companies, they are acting as they should to make their shareholders as much money as they can. Bless them. And maybe you want to always keep a regular phone line - I cover that in the book why you might or might not, and maybe you want to buy an internet phone line from the same people that sell you your internet service, and maybe you can also get great value from one of the big "high-commision" internet phone provider companies.

But you don't know enough information to do that from a position of strength. And the internet isn't much of a help here, although I did a lot of research there(months, if not years) trying to get rid of all the extraneous infromation the average person doesn't need.

That information is buried in forums, that are littered with flamers, and if you don't what I am talking about, basically flamers are very rude participants in online conversations(forums). They make me wince. They like to feel superior because they spent their lives ferriting out information and then they like to hold that back and be nasty and superior to others.

Back to my story. I was an early adopter of internet phone services. Companies would sell it to you 8 years ago, but I had lousy experiences with it. I would say it wasn't ready. The internet wasn't ready. The big corporations, who could lease dedicated internet lines, could make it work, but I couldn't. Yeah, it technically worked, but my clients (I was a self-employed IT consultant at the time - working for small professional service firms in downtown Toronto), would joke about the sound quality to me - it sounds like you are in tunnel, a canyon with an echo, etc. Painful, made me look bad.

I put it on the back burner.. I kept asking around and no-one was really happy (except people working in the big corportations - well really they didn't really notice but the management did, as they were able to save large on telecom)

A couple of years ago, some of the peers of the small professional service firms started to migrate to internet phones. I was reluctant. I tested it with them. I was surprised - I went in trying to find problems but didn't. It was fine. Finally, I thought, finally the internet phone revolution has begun.

I studied, read books (not too many available, and not easy reads), read the forums. Bought equipment, phones, routers, consumer level stuff. Researched providers, figured out what they were doing, bought a huge number of different services to see how they compared. In short, I became an expert.

I moved to Mexico to write this book. I had a lousy internet connection (I lived in a remote beach town, on a mountain, where the phone line which provided the internet connection - was draped across trees and the speed was slower than the cheapest high-speed you could buy north of the border. I made it work, and through that entire process became an expert at making lousy internet connections usable for internet phone connections.

This course is to share that expertise with you. And I've whittled it down. You can get through the material in an evening. That's my promise to you.

Credibility builders - if you just want to make a couple of long distance phone calls a week and don't need a stable, reliable substitute for a phone just get skype. But if you do need a rock solid replacement for your phone and what your options are - something that will ring and you don't have to worry about your computer being on.

Look the thing that the low end providers don't tell you is that most computers (unless they are called "workstations" which has hardware very similar to a "server' ) are not designed to run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. they suck in dust, which eventually slows down the circulation of air, which leads to heat, which ask any electronics guy, heat is the enemy of the micro components that make these things work. This is not a phone replacement package. Also workstations can use serious amounts of electricity when they are left running - over 30 dollars per month (and voila there goes your savings). My system uses electricity to the tune of of 60 cents a month - so you can also feel better about doing your bit for the environment.

There is no reason that you can't have exceptional phone service for no more than 20.00 dollars pre month and in many cases much less.

Step-bu-step guide to getting this done. Yeah, there are a couple of little technical concepts you will have to get through but they are explained in baby steps - like someone holding you hand. Its like an having an expert hold your hand

There are some powerful but straight-forward hidden secrets to having a successful
internet phone.
So lets talk about the downsides the risks that you might take on, if you buy this book. You might have problems getting

I try to specifically avoid making recommendations (this can go out in the confirmation) but if you tell me what you are trying to do and why you are thinking of going in a direction I might act as a coach. Essentially I will answer questions about the content of the book or based on the content of the book - if you don't understand something. If you want to ask
